The number of countries registered with the UCI rose to 46.



46 countries from the 5 continents, 437 athletes (165 men and 121 women), 151 delegates, technicians, doctors, mechanics and masseurs, present in Cali the new generation of Olympic and world champions.


The UCI Cali 2023 Junior Track Cycling World Championship has started its countdown for the great meeting of the new generation of sprinters between August 23 and 27.


Once again, the renowned Alcides Nieto Patiño Velodrome opens its doors, which since 1996 has already brought together a significant number of 18 World Cups and the unforgettable elite World Championship in 2014.


For this edition of the UCI Cali 2023 Junior Track Cycling World Championship, the organization of the event has received at the official closing of registrations on July 31, the presence of 437 athletes (165 men and 121 women) representing 46 countries from the 5 continents. Added to the previous data were 151 people including delegates, technicians and auxiliary personnel from each of the teams, for a grand total of 558 visitors.


Added to this and thanks to the junior category of the participants, many of their families accompany them to this kind of event, which considerably increases the number of people who will arrive in Cali, which also contributes to the economic dynamics of the city.


It will undoubtedly be a Junior World Championship that expects orbital records in this category in response to the superlative technical balance left by the recent meeting of the European countries in their continental championship held last July in Anadia (Portugal) and where the Italians, for For example, they broke the world records for the Team Pursuit with 3min. 53sec. 980 thousand and the Individual Pursuit over the three kilometers with 3min. 07sec. 596 thousand.
